Pop Culture Roundup!

Happy Monday, everyone! Each week here at Geektana, we compile a list of goodies to help jumpstart your week! This week’s list features trailers, interviews, and a theory about the ending of Stranger Things!

Trailers

First up, here’s a couple of trailers to get you excited for upcoming releases!

Jumanji: The Next Level is the sequel to the surprise standout remake, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. This film features the same characters, but as the trailer shows, the characters inhabit different video game characters this time. It’ll be an interesting shakeup, and we’ll see if it lives up to the hype of the first one!

Release date: December 13, 2019

Similarly, Disney released the official trailer for Maleficient: Mistress of Evil, another sequel to a remake. We’re sensing a pattern here. Regardless, this movie looks like a lot of fun. Story-wise, we have no real previous movie to go off from since we’re (essentially) getting a new story. And, it’s Disney, so we’re happy to throw our money at it.

Release date: October 18, 2019

Interviews

Continuing with their series, Wired conducted an interview with Stranger Things‘ Winona Ryder and David Harbour in which they answer the web’s most-searched questions. I am a hardcore fan of these two, and after THAT SEASON 3 FINALE, I am just super emotional now.

If you want more Stranger Things, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, and Noah Schnapp did the same video with Wired. Yes, I’m obsessed with the series right now, and I AM NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE FOR IT.

If that’s not enough Stranger Things for you, click here to read a theory that will give you some hope after that tragic season 3 ending!

Enjoy the rest of your week, and we’ll see you back here on Monday!
